Traffic Advisory Reminder: Construction Continuing on Sunrise Way as Part of the Palm Springs Public Library Renovation.

As temperatures start to cool and more drivers are in town on the roads for the season, the City of Palm Springs is reminding motorists of continued median work on Sunrise Way as part of the Palm Spring Public Library Renovation Project. This roadway work allows for the expanded south parking lot, and a new driveway entrance (right turn in and out only) and includes a median. Sunrise Way will be reduced to a single lane between Baristo and Camino Parocela and there will be intermittent lane closures throughout the project as well as construction traffic entering and exiting on Sunrise Way.

The work began on July 20, 2026 and is projected to last through November 13, 2026. Working hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. During this time, motorists are advised to expect delays, reduce speed in work zones, and to follow all posted signage and directions from construction personnel. Alternative routes are advised during the time of construction to minimize impact.
