NOVEMBER 2025 - Library Progress and Updates: Construction and Community Connections

The construction trailer and fencing are now in place, and work has officially begun on our library renovation, both at the main library and the adjacent JC Frey Building. Carpet and shelving are being removed to make way for the more extensive demolition needed for electrical, plumbing, and seismic upgrades.
While we are excited to share updates about the renovation’s progress, we also want to highlight new initiatives that keep us connected with our community. On the first Thursday of each month, library staff will be at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. On the fourth Wednesday of each month, staff will be at the Mizell Center from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
At these pop-up library visits, staff can accept returned library materials, issue new library cards, offer a small selection of books and other items for checkout, and assist you with Libby, our online platform filled with thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines.
Stop by and say hello. We are happy to help and look forward to seeing you!
