If you lived on the one square mile commonly referred to as Section 14 - Starting at Frances Stevens school: INDIAN CANYON & ALEJO going East to SUNRISE going South to RAMON ROAD, West to INDIAN CANYON, North back to Frances Stevens school to ALEJO - from 1956 through 1966 and thehome you lived in was burned, destroyed or demolished by the City of Palm Springs during this period, you may be entitled to participate in a monetary settlement that has been reached between the City of Palm Springs and the Section 14 Survivors, Inc. nonprofit organization.
In order to be considered as an eligible participant in the settlement, you must be able to verify your residency on Section 14 during the relevant period identified above. You can establish residency by submitting any of the following documents: birth certificate with a street address on Section 14; school record with a street address on Section 14; or other documentation that verifies residency. Eligibility will not be determined because of actual or perceived race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, domestic partner status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation or as a member of any other protected class. Submission of documents is not a guarantee of any sort of payment as other requirements, and restrictions may apply.
You have 30 days after the date of this notice to submit your documentation to Section 14 Survivors. You may submit the documentation electronically by emailing a pdf copy to the following email address pssection14@gmail.com. Please submit any questions you may have to the same email address. If you do not have access to email, you may mail your documentation, postmarked no later than 30 days after the date of this notice, to Section 14 Survivors, Inc., 1717 E. Vista Chino Dr., Suite A7 - Box719 Palm Springs, CA 92262.
