City of Palm Springs to Host Inaugural Extreme Heat Summit 2026
The City of Palm Springs will host its inaugural Extreme Heat Summit 2026 on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The summit is being presented by the City's Department of Sustainability in partnership with the Department of Emergency Management to advance climate resilience and public safety.
This full-day conference will bring together government leaders, researchers, public health professionals, emergency managers, urban planners, nonprofit organizations, business leaders, and community advocates to address one of the most urgent climate challenges facing communities today.
As extreme heat events become more frequent and severe, the summit will focus on strategies to protect public health, strengthen infrastructure, and improve community resilience. Attendees will hear from keynote speakers and expert panels, participate in interactive sessions, and network with leaders advancing solutions in:
- Heat resilience planning and policy
- Public health and vulnerable populations
- Climate adaptation and urban design
- Cooling infrastructure and nature-based solutions
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Community engagement and partnerships
Organizations interested in sponsorship or exhibitor opportunities are encouraged to contact the City of Palm Springs Department of Sustainability at: sustainability@palmspringsca.gov.
