GENE AUTRY TRAIL WIND WALL IS COMPLETE!

COMPLETION DATE: February 2026
Work has wrapped up on the construction of an approximately 590' long brick wall, with wall heights ranging from 12 feet to 14.5 feet, along the North Gene Autry Trail corridor, an area we all know gets pummeled by strong winds and blowing sand - reducing visibility and creating sand dunes on the roadway.
The City Council, at its April 23, 2025 meeting, awarded a construction contract to Deark E&C Inc., in the amount of $2,195,800 million. The majority of the cost is covered by Measure A funds, a half-cent sales tax measure approved by Riverside County voters that provides dedicated funding for local streets and roads and invests in major regional transportation improvements
