GENE AUTRY TRAIL WIND WALL
Lane closure near construction site is ongoing
START DATE: JUNE 2025
ANTICIPATED COMPLETION DATE: MARCH 2026
Work is under way on the construction of an approximately 590' long brick wall along the North Gene Autry Trail corridor, an area we all know gets pummeled by strong winds and blowing sand - reducing visibility and creating sand dunes on the roadway.
The City Council, at its April 23, 2025 meeting, awarded a construction contract to Deark E&C Inc., in the amount of $2,195,800 million. The majority of the cost is covered by Measure A funds, a half-cent sales tax measure approved by Riverside County voters that provides dedicated funding for local streets and roads and invests in major regional transportation improvements
Work will continue through March 2026. Updates will be provided, including lane closures and other pertinent information.
