Convenient cooling centers available to residents this summer
in the City of Palm Springs

As temperatures heat up in the Coachella Valley, the City of Palm Springs would like to advise our citizens that three convenient cooling centers will be available to offer a welcome retreat from the heat when the temperature reaches 100 degrees -- now through the end of September.
The cooling centers, in partnership with the City of Palm Springs and the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County, operate at no cost to the public. Here is a full list of the locations available in Palm Springs:
• Demuth Community Center, 3601 E. Mesquite Ave, Monday – Friday,
9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
NEW: Open Sunday, July 7, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, 480 W. Tramview Road, Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
NEW: Open Sunday, July 7, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Palm Springs Public Library, 300 S. Sunrise Way, Monday & Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday & Wednesday, 10 am – 8 pm, Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Pets on leashes are welcome. Cats must be in a carrier.
In addition, Martha’s Village and Kitchen will keep the Palm Springs Access Center across from the Airport open daily, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. for unsheltered individuals to cool down. Users of the Access Center in need of overnight shelter will be transported to the Palm Springs Navigation Center.
